Help one of my hens is acting so strange! I’ve tried working but sleeping constantly

My girl was down like that last week and I tried lots of things so I’m not sure what helped. I did Epsom salt baths, Epsom salt internally and charcoal internally in case she got into something toxic. I also put acv and probiotics in her water. She wasn’t eating so I syringed her some wet cat food and also did yogurt + olive oil in a syringe. She slept inside for 5 nights. She is back with the flock now and doing well. I’m still sneaking her treats of scrambled eggs and mealworms to help her gain some weight back.

If you find mites or lice they can be treated with a spot on ivemectrin treatment or internal ivemectrin "be aware this way also worms the chicken
Continuing to throw meds at an already ill chicken with unidentified source may just kill them. :hmm I'm going to strongly advise AGAINST Ivermectin... it isn't labeled for use in chickens and should only be used to treat systemic things like scaly leg mite or depluming mite that can't be treated topically.

Along with my last statements... I'm repeating this for the OP... re, wazine... Again... worming is hard on the system. Worming an ill bird might set them over the edge if that isn't their issue. It is poison...

Only feather issue I see looks like rooster damage. And not all mites will be seen as some are microscopic. If eggs are passing in the droppings from worms they will be microscopic as well. Only round worms and tape worms will be seen in feces. When I suspected worms in my chickens or dogs (even one scooting their bumm on the ground) :sick I took a sample to the vet and confirmed NO worms!

If YOU think something is off about one of your hens... You are RIGHT! We know... :old and we have to be aware of subtle changes since chickens are prey animals and they will do everything they can to hide weakness or be the first to get preyed upon. Trust your instinct!

Chickens DON'T just die for NO reason. Some roosters will be having kidney failure from eating layer all their lives... and without necropsy, may be presumed something else. Only real way to know what killed your chicken when it isn't obvious predation or the like is necropsy. It may seem to us like they were fine one day and dead the next. But it's most likely they were masking their symptoms well and we didn't notice, in addition to their metabolism making things run their course and take their toll much faster.

I personally would cut the meds as suggested and support the hens immunity. If she passes... it happens. :( But let us not be the ones who kill our birds by accidentally making things worse. I know, we are just doing our best! :hugs
