Does this still look like a niacin deficiency (what I’ve been treating for) or something else?! Both feet use to be in “fist” which i see them stretched out a little here and there now but duckling only stands and moves on hocks ( sometimes using beak to pull toward as well). What else could this be and treatment advice please!!

I actually just treated my duckling with what turned out to be niacin deficiency and it looked similar to this but not as severe. He was walking with one leg turned in and walking on a swollen hock on the other leg. It wouldn’t hurt to start feeding peas and supplementing with Brewers Yeast in case that is the issue. My duckling was back to walking in days.

Forgot to mention, I also did warm epsom salt soaks and sometimes would do compress with self stick gauze. Massages here and there as well.

How long has the duckling been like this and how old? What are you using to treat?
My guess is about 6 weeks old now. I’ve had them for 2 weeks. The first week he/she only shuffled but mainly didn’t move. I’ve been treating with vitamin B complex and niacin. Giving a few peas as treats and making sure he get out as much as possible with 5-10 supervised swims. This second week that I’ve had him/her is moving around a lot more but feet remain up next to body and “walking” on hocks

I have been mixing niacin from the day i got them 2 weeks ago and have recently been giving peas and vitamin b complex because i thought it was a niacin deficiency. I just haven’t seen any improvement in his legs and feet just that he wants to get a round more. I’ve been starting to think maybe slipped achilles, but they say that’s normally only in one leg. I will order some brewers yeast to start using as well!
