Help!!! Only on hocks!

I was probably wrong with my goose when I figgured it out I could feal the dislocate of the bones in 2 places. But she held her foot like that for 5 weeks. You asked about epsom salts I just use general from the store but I dont do it every day about ever 4th day. If they drink to much to often the can get diarrhea. In fact with my goose when I figgured out the broken toe stopped using it but let here swim in the trough for about 1 hour a day so she could get off her body weight. With her its been a long wait and see because its a bone issue,.

I have been mixing niacin from the day i got them 2 weeks ago and have recently been giving peas and vitamin b complex because i thought it was a niacin deficiency. I just haven’t seen any improvement in his legs and feet just that he wants to get a round more. I’ve been starting to think maybe slipped achilles, but they say that’s normally only in one leg. I will order some brewers yeast to start using as well!
I initially thought it was slipped tendon in my duck too since it was only one leg for him but after feeling around i didn’t notice anything being out of place. if your duck lets you, you can try and feel around for the tendon while he is laid down with his leg stretched back but like you said, I doubt it slipped on both legs. other than that, just continue doing what your doing and you can try the warm epsom baths and wrapping if you’d like and see if he makes any improvements.

How long do you normally let them soak in warm epsom salt? Also, is regular store brand safe to use? You would just wrap the hocks in gauze? Any particular way?
i would soak him for 10-15 minutes 2 times a day or as long as he would allow. try and not let them drink the water bc it will cause diarrhea. and yes regular gauze is fine just be sure to not wrap too tightly. and i would only wrap around the hock, yes.

It could be slipped tendons, If at all possible getting him to a vet would be best. It could be it's too late to do anything but walking on his hocks will eventually cause his skin to break down so I'd keep him where you can keep what's under him soft and thick so he doesn't start getting something similar to bed sores. I found this It maybe worth trying even if he is older

After all the advice you are getting and you’re not really seeing any improvement, I’d try to get him to the vet. I know that is a last resort for most people but in serious cases, it may be best.

Just wondering-wouldn’t the bones set if wait too long? Or is that what we want?
