casportpony has given you excellent advice, it seems like things are going well. i apologize it took me so long to get back, i have a larger than average flock- and sometimes it takes a while.

casportpony said "go with your gut" that is great advice, be patient and observe as you go along. keep the membrane damp but dont overdo it. pretty much everyone who has hatched has had to assist along the way, and we learn as we go. if you save the chick its wonderful, if the worst happens - well you have still learned a great deal and will be more equipped to deal with it next time.

im glad Kathy stumbled onto the thread. she is very talented and has given tons of great advice. thank you!

It's looking good!

I think it looks like it has a couple more days to go. Keep doing what your doing.
Do you think I can leave her on her own during the night? Or should I plan for no sleep until she hatches?

Um.... if it were me I would put the incubator by my bed and set an alarm for ever hour or so so I could wake up in the night and check on it, but I certainly wouldn't stop sleeping. Far too lazy

I was thinking every half hour!

lol But the setting it by the bed sounds like a good idea. Maybe by the third or fourth time of checking on her I'll have it down and be able to do it while still asleep?
