So,my broody seems to be sick. Not sure if she's eggbound, or something else. She also left the eggs. I guess she gave up hope too? I brought her two in and set them in my bator with Amelia (the chick who waited). And we've got a cheeper! Egg #3 has cheeped twice now! This is so exciting!

So sorry... how many days did yours go and had it absorbed it's yolk?

It was cracked on day 17 I think. I left it with the hen for a day and candled it. I didn't see any movement or anything so I assumed it was dead. I started an eggtopsy and it wiggled so I wrapped it in a moist paper towel and kept the membrane wet. It lived overnight and the next day in two pyrex dishes with a heatlight. When it tried to push out its head got stuck on a small lip of the shell and it didn't make it. I couldn't bring myself to open the egg any further, so not sure about the yolk.

So sorry... how many days did yours go and had it absorbed it's yolk?
