My girls are 5 weeks tomorrow. I supposedly am having a coop built for me and delivered by my SIL's nephew. Have not been able to get a hold of them for a few weeks, So I am going on the basis that I am going to have to build a coop. I wasgoing to build a hoop run with cattle panels and the coop on the back side of it. I am now considering building a Hoop coop/run combo.

My thoughts are 4 cattle panels forth walls/roof which would be 16 feet long by approximately 8 ft wide with a cattle panels on either end. to close of the area. 1/4 inch HWC along the bottom 18 inches out and up the sides for predator protection, tarp over one end and the back side to protect from the elements.

I have plenty of space for this project but not plenty of money.

Here are the particulars:
10 girls 6 austrolorps 4 ISA Browns
Live in Dubuque Ia,Zone 5B
Snow still on the ground and ground still frozen as of today.
Out growing brooder need to move them to something bigger soon.

If you are going to make a coop using cattle panels, here is a suggestion.

Many peeps use this type of housing for their chickens. Some I know near me. I live in same climate/weather zone as you do.
WISHING YOU BEST......... :highfive:
