Where in NE FL do you live?? I want to come there. LOL No Animal control, let alone a Humane society. The ladders aren't long enough. Our Fire dept LOL at me.
I called the fire dept one time for the same reason. She siad we don't do that and hung up on me. I called my BIL and he climbed the tree! What about putting tuna at the base of the tree? Good luck. Please let us know how it goes.
My 7 month old kitten worked his way up a tree and then panicked. I couldn't find him that night when it was time for bed. The next morning I finally spotted him. It took a little while for me to coax him down, but he finally figured out how to back down the tree by himself. I did climb about 4 feet up to help. Can you get up in the tree safely? Maybe if you are a little closer to him he will figure out the rest.
The best part of this story is that he is one of the kittens that has been living in the chicken coop. The chicken were very interested in the whole rescue process. After I got him down I went back in the house to get ready for work. At one point I heard the chickens going crazy bagawking and making that unhappy chicken sound. I went out front to see what was after them. All 17 were crammed up in the front corner of the coop looking at something. I finally figured out that they were watching the kitten who had decided to try climbing the tree out front. They were fussing at him!
Back when I was a kid we had a cat that would push the back door screen open and the dog would chase her up a tree. The first time it happened the cat stayed for 5 days and nights. My mom tried everything to get this cat down with no luck. Ending the fifth day 11 alive news of out of Atlanta was coming to do a story on this cat. I'm mean my mom was out of ideas and needed help. Well before the news reporter got there someone called and suggested we call a tree surgeon. The man shows up, put those spikes on his shoes, walked up the tree and got our cat. This was back in the 70's and he charged her $10.00 for rescuing our cat. After the man came to our house five other times to get this same cat out of this same tree at $10.00 a trip my mom had the cat declawed.
