HELP OVERMATING???

More ladies is a great idea. Until you can find some, or if you don't have the space or energy for more ducks, can you provide them a see through barrier? Some members use baby gates or fencing. Then they can hang out with each other on either side of the barrier. Also, since mating usually happens in water you could take away their pool until you add in some more girl friends. Perhaps try giving them swimming water for a half hour a few times a week. Hopefully when the hormones go down in the fall the mating will decrease.

Yes chicken wire will be fine to separate birds from other birds.

I have used chicken wire to make a duck barrier before. You might have to "stack" it. I think the stuff I had was only 18 inches tall and I was worried my ducks would attempt to fly over and get stuck and injured in the process. So I just made a frame with one lower length of chicken wire and one upper length. I hope that makes sense.

Just remember chicken wire isn't racoon or weasel proof!
