OMG! Does it ever end? Went out this AM and one of my week old leghorns looked droopy. When I picked her up she perked up and was cheeping and peeping away but she's been lethargic and has a stuffy, wheezy nose......gave her polyvisol and some extra fluid and put a small amount of VetRx on her beak and nostrils with a Q-tip. I have her segregated...everyone seems fine so far. If she's not better by tomorrow I was thinking I should get her on an antibiotic. Duramycin? Should I give it to everybody?

Well my little snuffaluffaguss looked a little better. She was still stuffy but was up and about...eating and pooping. Still giving her VetRx and polyvisol. Going to get antibiotic on the way home from work. Feed store was out yesterday. Also took your advice and ordered Oxine which should come in 2 days. Everyone else is OK. To be continued.......

I'd go ahead and treat them all though. and when you get the oxine mix according to directions on the website for misting. I just use a garden sprayer do it on a warm day though since yours are young you don't want to cause them to chill. you can also use a cool mist humidifier in the coop too. Glad to hear she is better today. I also use VetRX.

Well here's the update from Fowl Territory and lately it's all foul!

Got home from work and my little stuffy chick seemed alot better....chirping, running around and only a smidge stuffy in the nose. Still using the VetRx and I didn't give her the antibiotic and this morning she still looks fine. Am I being foolhardy? Should I give it to everyone just in case? But I know that's not good for them either, plus I worry about the guts of my pasty butts.
Secondly my 2 little miracle chicks are pasting up again. One isn't too bad and I think is OK. But one is really bad to the point of being impacted....had to squeeze out the poop and pull it out with the tip of a bobby pin. She seems fine....active, eating and drinking. They are getting polvisol and ACV in water, have sand for grit and have plenty of room to run around. I the pasty butt girls a few drops of olive oil last night. What do I do now? Yikes and double yikes
