Does anyone have a picture of a chick that has been hobbled? I have a new 3 week old chick with a slipped ligement that is hobbled...I had to change it due to her pooping all over the old one...but I can't seem to get her leg to turn all of the way over...any pix or hints would be helpful!!

I hobbled her..but not sure....

If your chick has feathered legs you might want to consider something like the photo below. You can use the tiny baby rubberbands and double them. You can also use a very small zip tie on each leg.

Thank you so much for the information...my question...I know another one uggg...but she can not get around very good..just kind of flops over and then sits there..I put in a stuffed animal for company...is it normal for a hobbled chick not to be able to get around at all? They will be ok? I am trying not to move her around too much because every time I do she moves her leg..if I unhobble her leg...it turns right around and goes behind her...so I have it turned around facing the front as well as it can...I had to move the water away because she flops around and lands in it...so I keep introducing it to her and she drinks...I am just worried that she is not getting around..but I guess that is the whole purpose of having them hobbled..sorry Just really hard to watch her flop around..not being able to really get anywhere...I will try to post a picture later of her hobbled legs and see what if everyone thinks...she is so sweet..lets me do almost anything to her..I want to give her a fighting chance...but I do not want her in pain...

With the hobbles I use as pictured above they walk around just fine. The first 1-2 minutes they make stumble a bit, but it's pulling their legs up under them where they should be and that takes a little while for them to get use to.
