I can’t even believe I’m back on here 12days later to beg for advice on yet another ill chicken! It was the chicken I had a gut feeling telling me something was up but she was still carrying on so I ignored that feeling and just kept an eye on her…Yesterday evening I spotted her up top in their roosting area.. she went up extra early for her spot..her comb looked off but that was really it I couldn’t notice anything else.. today I noticed her right wing suddenly is way lower than left like it was touching ground when she went to make a beeline outta there cause she saw me trying to get her. Her eyes look off like glassy or something? She’s weak.. I just seriously feel like this has to be some kind of freaking terrible nightmare because I CANT seriously be losing my chickens! I’m not sure if the wing was hurt and that could maybe cause the other issues I mentioned? Right now i have her up in roosting area of a smaller coop with warmth water with electrolytes in ur feed and a tiny bit of scratch cause she seems hungry and she’s lower in pecking order so her being chased off from food and water really is going to end up doing more harm. I’m just at a loss here. Pics attached below! @azygous sorry I keep “@ing” you every 5mins but I need youuuu!! I just uploaded every pic I could get of her. I couldn’t get a pic straight on where u could see the wings in comparison to one another. I took videos where I caught good angle and you could see her whole demeanor but I have no freaking idea how to do videos on here! I’ve tried a bunch of times before! Also attached a couple droppings I spotted in run to ask if it was normal because I’ve never seen that b4 not even when they were free ranging and having full access to our raspberry and blueberry bushes.

If a chicken is being bullied away from food and water, eventually they will become dehydrated and will be in a state of starvation. This can mimic serious illness, even make you think the chicken is in immediate danger of dying. A dropped wing is a sign of weakness, not pain. You did well to give her warm water with electrolytes. Add a spoon full of sugar to it to goose her glucose, and if you see her perk up, we may be on the right track treating starvation.

Treat starvation by feeding her separately with calories and high protein. Cooked oatmeal with egg mixed in would be good to start with. If starvation is her problem, she should start to act normally in just 24 hours. If she declines instead, then you might consider treating for bacterial infection and/or worms.

Really?! I’ve seen the droopy wings with the others who died but hers is to the point she’s actually tripping over it! I didn’t meant it like that that she’s being starved I just meant with her being under the weather right now the last thing she should have to worry about is throwing down for water and food lol But she really got down on her feed she’s taking a quick snooze now. She’s in our garage it’s insulated then I have a heavy old warm fleece comforter in there and one of those brooder pads like the heating pads. Is that ok? I even gave her a little night light lol

I am kind of convinced I do need to do deworming on the whole bunch but I don’t think ur seeing worms. I checked it all out pretty well if I saw worms I wouldn’t of even asked. But I think maybe ur seeing bits of their scratch? Attached photo of her little scratch/meal worms/grit mix lol

I’m really worried is there anything else I can do? She’s not looking good and I don’t feel right about just sitting around to wait until she’s worse. Should I give her nutridrench something?

What have you done for her so far? Warm sugar water? If you have Nutri-drench, squirt a dropper full into the sugar water. The stuff mainlines without needing to metabolize though the liver. It can give her an instant boost.

Do you have any antibiotics on hand? If so, what?

I would follow the suggestions that @azygous has given.
I'm just jumping in here about what's in that feed container (bucket in 2 photos)? You mention you are giving a little treat? Is that her feed or her treat? I would make sure she's eating a nutritionally balanced poultry feed in addition to what Carol has suggested. Cut out the treats for now.

I have done both of those as well as made one of her waterers mixed with nutridrench( I dosed her tiny bit too) i had water with electrolytes earlier. She has a pretty rank smell.. she’s been doing weird head/neck movements.. she’s almost acting as if she can’t see properly? These are literally all the meds And antibiotics I have on hand! The smaller prescription bottle is amoxicillin.

The weird neck movements and smell suggest a possible crop issue. Have you checked her crop? Full, hard, lumpy, squishy ?
