Help please, advise needed, Java straining on the nest second night

I have a very sweet Mottled Java that sat on the nest all last night acting like she had to lay, but never did. This morning I checked for egg binding and found nothing, and she hopped right down, but at lunch she was back on the nest, moaning like she was alying but had nothing close enough for me to feel in her chute, but there is an egg down in there. I just never made it to the egg.

Any suggestions other than the glove & vasilene? This is such a sweet girl, it would be a real shame to lose her.

So.....

She did lay today. We accounted for all eggs.

When she came out of the coop after I checked for egg binding, I did see her poop.

She is still on the nest right now, feathers all ruffled, her opening is puckering non stop.

Of all the chickens we have had, I really adore these two Javas, and they are always together. If this girl declines, it will be especially difficult for me to put her down. This is very sad.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I would like to do what I can. Thanks,

If she layed Finally she shod be ok. Just watch to see if it happens again you will need to do the petroleum jelly. It might not hurt to do it now just to lube her up a bit.
