Gus Gus is my 5 month old Alpha Drake. Something got him while I was in the woods, he was up by the house. I just found him laying on his side. I quickly got him cleaned up. Both legs are broken. And his face is all messed up. I stopped all the bleeding. One spot looks like his bill it torn off from his face. I set the legs then placed four craft sticks wrapped with vet tape. On each one. Left up under body, and below knee, right leg broken off knee.

We had to sling our chicken and make her a wheel chair, we took a large plastic tub, lined with puppy pads, a micro fleece baby blanket cut in half, and large binder clips from staples. cut two holes for legs and adjusted height accordingly. slid a puppy pad up to base of neck for additional support and to draw poop down, then took a memory foam travel pillow and put it under her crop and belly. for the wheel chair we used a three part hamper from wallmart. cut the pvc to length needed and heigth, attached the corners and wheels and used the hammock sling and binder clips to hold it in place, worked wonderfully

Yes, there is. If I can manage to work on infants in Syria in worse conditions than my sunroom. I am going to do the best I can for my Gus Gus!!!!!

Now can someone please tell me if I can use Lidocaine Injections in a duck and if not. Any vets or assistance out there that can give me a local block I can use.

He's hanging on! I put plates and screws in both legs and feet got pins. I looked up the bill and bones of the face. Got that all put back together. Now it's up to God. But I can lay down tonight knowing I did everything I possibly could.

I would either euthanize him or get him to a vet asap. His injuries sound too extensive for home care.

Here's the sling I made for my Chrissy when I was going through a similar deal. It ended up not working due to break position and her being a squirmy wormy but it might help someone else anyway...

Gus Gus is doing great. We had him outside yesterday for a bit. His beak is healing nicely and he is eating. He is standing some. His personality has come back as well.
