Just make sure you don't cover the vent holes. The extra insulation can really raise the temp, so watch it closely. Also, you can fold up washclothes and place them over the windows. You actually lose a lot of heat out of those windows.

okay..i got the temp to 98.4...and there is now a little star shaped crack on the top of the egg....its not a open crack...it looks like he was trying to push out!...should i help him? i worry that he's not strong enough to get through the shell himself..because he's late hatching and been pipped in the air sack for so long...

DO NOT OPEN THE BATOR FOR ANYREASON till all have hatched for they can live in bator for 48 hours after they come out of shell, or you will mess up the rest of the hatch. i know it is hard, but trust me i have been there and know how it feels. but you will have fuzzy butts running around sounds like to me. the one that has a star is taking the yolk in that is why it is taking so long. just give it time. william
