Help please, crowing..hen?

This is my Bantam Cochin. I will refer to her as a "she" until the mystery is solved. I bought "her" at about 3 months of age. Sweetest thing ever. She is about 8 months old now and has started crowing at 7:30am for about 5 mins almost daily. I'm not real familiar with this chicken so although she has a bigger red comb, I thought she was in fact, a she. No eggs have come yet. I have 3 other standard confirmed hens who pick on the Cochin relentlessly, so bad when she was smaller they scalped her and I had to separate her for awhile. It's not as bad anymore, but Pippy the cochin is lowest on the pecking order. Which makes me wonder, if she was a Roo wouldn't he be higher up on the pecking order? Or because is he smaller it doesn't matter? I read hens will occasionally "crow". Can anyone tell by the pics? Thank you!
