Hi fellow backyard poultry owners, my hen Pink-Band died yesterday night and I want to know exactly what diseade killed her I know right now it sounds like sds but we thought she broke her leg. After two days it went away then a couple weeks later it came back and went downhill from there. I had to bring her to the water and food everyday then as we thought she was healing, the next day after we thought that, she died in her sleep. I was thinking it might have been Kinky back. What are your thoughts? She was vaccinated. I would love to kniw what disease took her life.

Sorry for your loss. The only way to know exactly what killed her is with a necropsy and lab tests. If you tell me your state or country, I'll give you the contact information for your local poultry lab.
Way too many things that can kill a chicken to speculate.

Hi, we live in Illinois/border of Wisconsin

You have 2 labs I'm aware of. The state labs are usually the cheapest way to go.

Often if you call, they'll give you a discounted fed ex label because they want to know what killed the bird as much as you do.
