I have two call ducklings trying to hatch. They pipped internally at least 48 hours ago. Once I noticed they were internally pipped, I externally pipped for them since they usually can't do it on their own. I've been watching them closely since then, and I've even removed some of the shell around like a zip to help them when they get ready, but their veins are still HUGE. Are they ever going to absorb them, or did I do something wrong to cause them not to? I've assisted several hatches, but never one that I've had to externally pip for. I'm starting to worry. Today is day 26, so they're not way past their hatch date or anything, but I didn't think it normally took 48+ hours to absorb everything.
