HELP PLEASE! Egg bound but can't get to egg!!

**help please!!*** We have a hen that HAS to be egg bound but I'm so confused! Noticed her pasty butt yesterday and my hubby found her lethargic this afternoon and entire bum covered in dry poop and you can feel a huge bulge of eggs in her. We have her soaking in warm water and have helped to lube her up, but the digital exam we did you cant actually feel the hard egg?! It's obvious there is AT LEAST one in there, but I'm a nurse and it feels like the egg is either under or enveloped in tissue?! Any help is greatly appreciated! Joey Bernard

I have the same problem Joey. Soaked her, examined her but cannot find an egg. I've given her calcium in an eye dropper (used one of my calcium tabs ground up). You could try this as well as calcium is supposed to help an egg bound hen. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear about your hen. Can you give us some more info? does the abdomen feel hard, lumpy, or squishy? Does her abdomen feel hot? What does her poo look like? Any change in diet or breathing? I hope you find answers soon! I have heard of unshelled eggs getting stuck could they be squishy? Or can you not feel lumps at all?
