Help please emergency!

I know this is a chicken site but backyard herds isnt active! Pleas help our rabbit just gave birth way past her due date in her cage 3 survived and 3 others died. They are freezing cold and we dont have any milk replacer. We have them inside getting warm but we have to feed them! can they have cow milk? what can we do!!

we tried but she is the one that killed the other 3 (we think after they died) We stuck her in with them in a nest box but she didnt even stay. ANd they are soo cold. We have them on a heating pad.

Rabbits are horrible moms the first time and often kill/eat their first litter. Bottle feeding can be difficult when they are tiny but we have assisted nursing if the mom is tame enough for you to hold her and let the babies nurse, watch the feet as she will often try to kick them off. Try and get milk replacement and the small bottle that are available at tsc, Walmart and most pet stores. Hope this helps!

Ok thankyou! we just watched a video on how to hold her and let them nurse we are going to try that once they get warm enough. I appreciatte the help.

The mom won’t stay with her babies
She will go in 1-2 times a day usually dusk and dawn ti feed and that’s it
Did you see the mom kill the others or is it possible they died of being to cold ?
As for feeding the babies kitten formula is what we were told when we rescued 3 little ones my cats were trying to kill as they found a wild bunny nest
They did kill 2 but we saved the other 3 and eventually were able to release them into the wild once bigger
My daughter also just had her rabbit give birth and bought kitten formula in case but mom has been doing great

Ok update! they are eating and warm. We forced mama to nurse and they have been doing so well. We think they died of cold and then she ate them. But they other three are doing well! Im so glad I hope they keep doing well.

That would make sense
I think they do eat any they die
Hopefully mom will continue now to care for them
