HELP PLEASE! in the middle of an assist hatch & my guide is unavailble now!

@Lacrystol ,

Scoodie is now 1 week & 3 days old ALREADY! Wow, that went so fast. His neck is still bent, but it seems to not be as much and he's able to move it more fluently. He does still go in circles, like when I sit him down after holding him, or when he just wakes up he seems disoriented and goes in circles. He regulates himself quite quickly though. Hubby found a way to get him to take the vitamin E easily. Scoodie likes hubby's wedding band because it's shiny, so he pecks at it all the time. So hubby took the band off, cleaned it really well, put the vitamin E on it, held it by Scoodie and Scoodie licked it clean! :DDD So i got a fake shiny band and use that...works famously! He is still on the other vitamins as well.

He is swimming very well, but he won't dive like his sibling does. He is able to clean his nostrils and his body though. I do regular gentle massages on it...he loves that!

GOOD sounds real good, Keep up the work, it may take a while for those vitamins to kick in..

When you massage him, feel up and down for any swelling, or lumps, lets make sure there's nothing stuck there or something else going on.

Are you able to straighten out his neck at all with your help?

@Kleonaptra

I've never heard of that breed duck. He looks like my rouen duckie. Your other duckie looks like my jumbo pekin. Your right about being able to tell if a duck egg is alive or not. So hard to tell either way.
Im so happy for your little Scoodie! Cant wait to see how he grows up!

Yes Pacific Blacks are Australian. They are very unique because they move with their water source and thats how they have survived our desert land. Abbeys mum is definitely the pekin cross who is also in my avatar, Wist's favourite lady.

Hi All,

Hope everybody had a nice Christmas filled with lots of family & fun! :D

Scoodie update: He is officially DIVING & SWIMMING UNDER WATER!!! His neck has straightened out a lot too!!! Happy Day! It is a little crooked at the base where his head meets his neck. I will continue with the vitamins and massages and water therapy until it is completely healed, then I will begin to wean him from the vitamins slowly. He has a very odd chirp now, nothing like his sibling's normal chirp...makes me wonder if he really is a HE. I remember his daddy lost his voice completely at 3 weeks old and when he got it back it was a drake voice.

I tried to get a picture of him under water, but that sucker was too fast! Here he is during his morning swim... Look at how big he is now :DD

Thanks @Amiga ...I posted update pics of scoodie. Your avatar pic is so cute! My daughter has a runner & he is so dang adorable....definitely the star of the show all the time! He crossed with her rouen & we are incubating 2 of the eggs now along with a bunch from my ducks. I'm hoping to get at least 1 female from it :DD the rest are going to a friend that has over 250 acres and a HUGE duck pond. Of course i'm keeping my Scoodie as well. I have 2 ducks now, and hoping to have 4 to 5 after all is hatched. I'm wanting 2 to 3 more females, but it doesn't matter what scoodie is...hehe! if he is truly a boy, i'll keep 2 girls from the hatches...if he is a girl, i'll probably just keep a female runner mix :D
