HELP PLEASE! in the middle of an assist hatch & my guide is unavailble now!

I rolled up a washcloth like a duck...he lays on it.  Can i put his sibling in with him now?  His head is up, but he is still stumbling & wobbling around.  He is still sleeping a lot, but he is waking and moving around in more intervals.  I put the vitamins in the water & he did drink from the water bowl when I was peeking into the room...sneaky duck! LOL.  his navel/vent area is looking good.  It has went down even more.  It looks like a small scab sore now.  Should it be dry? I have been putting bactrecin (spelling?) on it...is that ok?  I took the starter food(non-medicated) and added his vitamin water to it to make it mushy.  I haven't seen him eat it, but apparently he likes to be sneaky so he may be eating without me knowing.  Do i need to feed him?  If so, how do i go about it.

Thanks so much Lacrystol....you rock!

Yes you can put his siblings in with him.hell be wobbly just as soon as he gets stringer and better control, of himself,

Good on the navel, that's ok, but you probably really don't need to put anything on it since its shrunk down..

Have you grounded up the food? I put mine food in the food processor and grind it up until they get the hang of eating...

Yes make sure they have food they will discover it or you can do what I do and play momma role, show them by pecking at and grinding it up in your fingers the curiosity gets them going..

UPDATE: Siblings are united together finally!

Boy oh Boy....I tapped that food bowl like you said to do....and those babies came running over there quickly! Scoodie kinda pecked at it, but i don't think he ate more than 1 little piece....Zooma, on the other hand, dug right in! No table manners at all! LOL

His name is Scoodie, and he is an addict......

a WATER addict! LOL

He absolutely loves the watering hole!

and you can clearly tell by the poop on the bedding, they are being typical duckies....and i'm LOVING it! :DDD

Thanks all. @Lacrystol , I've read so many posts where you've helped many assist their ducklings as if they were your own...Your a great person :D

I know Scoodie's odds are against him, but I'm there for him. I carry heavy guilt for not doing my homework better BEFORE I started incubating. I"m giving him lots of alone time now... He's on "DO NOT DISTURB"! The cuddles can wait until he is well rested. He isn't eating or drinking yet. How long can he go without? What do you suggest I give him or do for him, if anything, to help him get stronger and healthy? Heck, any advice to benefit lil Scoodie is much appreciated.
YAY!!!!! So glad your baby made it!!!!

It's amazing how limited the information is on hatchings that don't go textbook style. Lacrystol fills that void, and does it in a way that takes a stressful situation and lifts the spirits while getting the job done!
