Help please. Injured coturnix foot?

Hi all. Hoping for some advice. I noticed tonight that one of my female (about 8 week old) quail appears to have a foot injury that is causing a toe to curl under. She seems to be getting around okay but I would think it has to be uncomfortable with it all folded under like that.

I think it must have just happened as I don’t see how I could have missed it - I only have five quail.

What should I do. Watch it? Splint it? Something else?

It isn’t a great one but I’ll attach a photo.

You might want to crosspost to the emergencies forum (https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures.10/) for more opinions on whether/how to splint. If she's walking on the back of her foot, it seems to me she needs immediate attention; you don't want her wearing through the top of her toes. I hope it's an easy fix!

try cabbage paste. i am trying it with mine, and i hear it works great.

My guess would be it's broken somehow, so if you don't splint it, it'll start healing in the wrong position. You don't want that. But moving it back to the right position is definitely going to hurt.
