HELP please! Internal pip 25 hours ago, no external pip

Congrats! So glad you saved him. I was pretty sure he was malpositioned in there. No way he would have hatched had you not intervened.

Now you need to find another gosling to keep him company :) He's not an embden; embdens hatch lighter than him with pink beaks.

I'm not sure if she has any goslings hatched right now, but if she does I will ask if I can borrow one lol. If she doesnt, will Buckbeak (goslings name) be ok?? Also, what type of goose do you think s/he is??

What types of goose does your friend have?

He really does need a friend. And not one you borrow either - if you intend to keep him, he'll have to have a friend for his whole life. They really aren't happy without a friend. Hopefully your friend has one you can have. If not, Metzer is still shipping them I believe, and you can buy as few as two.

I'm not sure, she just said this one looks like the embdens she has. I will ask her what other types she has! Her land is huge and she also keeps cows and such, and I've seen so many different looking geese there I definitely couldn't identify them lol. There's chicks and ducks at my local feed stores though, should I get a duckling? I am waiting for a call back from my friend, shes a family friend and lives a little over an hour away but I'm making a trip there this weekend to show her Buckbeak. She doesnt text and waiting for a call back is driving me crazy lol

I dont plan on keeping her because I dont want her to be lonely, but I did want to keep her for the first few weeks. If I am unable to get a gosling from her would a duckling suffice at all?

I have a chicken coop but haven't had chickens in a few years but I've been wanting to get some chicks again. I could get some chicks being as I'd have everything for them once the gosling goes to the farm. Can they be kept in the brooder together?

A duckling could work, but then you'd have the problem of what to do with the duckling - would you be keeping it? If so you'd need to get two of those too.

Ducklings are better than chicks since they grow at a similar rate to goslings. In a few weeks a gosling would be a giant compared to same-age chicks.

I dont have housing for ducks, but if my friend is willing to take a couple ducklings I can do that. She still hasnt called me back and now I'm really worried about loneliness. At last resort, are chicks better than nothing? The gosling would be with other geese in about 4 weeks
