HELP PLEASE! My chick is not responding, I think she may be dying!

HUM. Not sure, we just brought home 8 chicks last night. I have ONE that keeps my attention......have you tried holding the little one to see a difference up close?

The one I have....tends to get left out a little....or pushed aside, so I wrap him/her up in a washcloth, (warmed in the dryer) and keep her in my lamp.....until content.

You will need to try electrolytes in the water. And put a drop under your nail and put the drop on it's beak. See if it trys to drink it. If it does, try another drop. Keep your chicks about between 96 and 98 degrees. You need a thermometer. Even if it's a outside one.I have been feeding my baby chick exact baby bird formula. I put it tiny drop by drop on the end of a syringe and smeared a little bit on it's beak. It tasted it and slowly it started eating. Extremely little by little.
Good Luck. And I hope you find more answers.
I hope your chickie gets better.

Oh and there has been some home made electrolyte recipes on BYC . do a search.

Thank you for all your suggestions. Sadly, she passed away this morning, about 40 minutes ago.

She will be missed. She was in the first ones I hatched out.

Oh I'm so sorry, I'm always late coming in on these threads....
usually when a chick is arching her head backwards its not good. It's some kind of nervous disorder. Other symptoms could include, convulsions, trembling, twitching... (do I sound like one of those prescription commercials or what?), Unfortunately, there's nothing you could've done. Again, I'm soo soo sorry.
