HELP! PLEASE - new peeps hatched out yesterday!!!

i wouldnt put warm water in, warm water freezes faster than cold water. why is this? i have no idea but its true

To an extent, Prissy is so right. But while you are sitting back letting nature take it's course, there may indeed be another hen or two whos nature tells them to kill and you will end up with no chicks. The mother hen can only protect but so much.
Nature can go both ways. I've seen both scenerios happen.
