HELP PLEASE! POSSIBLE LASH EGG!

If your hen laid a lash egg then she has what's called Salpingitis. Heavy antibiotics might help but she may never lay again if she's able to be cured.

Sometimes lash eggs are present when the infection has ran amok in their system for a while, and sometimes might be too late to treat.

Here are a list of symptoms and various images of lash eggs. Not all lash eggs look the same and this link has lots of references to different looking ones.

I'm thinking its just a shell-less egg laid by a newbie hen, but I'll keep an eye on it.
A shell-less egg looks like an egg, not like what you described. This is a shell-less egg.

They just prescribe antibiotics no matter WHAT.
I hate to say it, probably it's probably what she needs.

I know. But why do people reply more to chat threads than emergency threads?
Because Lash egg questions have been addressed here many times.

Or they aren't here, or offered enuf info. Please search, read articles, and post pics of set-up, chicken, ect. u posted at 3-4 am REPEATEDLY, my time. i have a broken arm, so i won't type much.

Ensure Fresh water, possibly warm if cold outside - and for now add a crushed Calc or Tums, either on food or in a bit of yogurt, for beneficial bacteria balance for both your girls. They need at least an hour a day sunlight for D3.

Read how to treat with ginger powder and garlic a few days, to help treat possible bacterial overgrowth in the ovaries or oviduct.

Corid in water a few days if they haven't been treated for parasites yet...and scoop daily, add fresh bedding to any soiled areas, and keep bedding DRY.

FRESH HAY in nests, and after breakfast - invite both back into the Coop to check out their favorite nest boxes...by tapping, singing, ect. Keep the coop quiet - and other pets away.

CLEAN ANY ALGAE OFF waterers, and scoop poo REGULARLY.

Complete LAYER FEED, with side grit, side crushed Oyster shells and crushed eggshell.

I've typed too much, and others may have also. Need to post my own issue.
