I thank you all for your reponses. I miss the little fellow, but I finally got some sleep last night.
Since my neighbors are quite close the crowing was putting my pet chickens at risk here.
I'll give any eggs back to the breeder.
Warfrost, we think alike. I have often wondered about surgically reducing the volume of a rooster's crow.
If it's a minor nip-tuck procedure (and inexpensive) It would be worth it to have the little one back.
That would be a delicate surgery on a Serama! I'll have to research it.
Jeez, I never thought I would want or care for a rooster, but after seeing how beautiful they are I'm a convert.
The rooster just seems to add another dimension to chicken keeping.
