What do you feed your flock?
If she is eating on her own its best if she was getting a complete balanced diet...commercially made poultry layer type feed.
Not veggies.

I feed my chickens a balanced diet of organic medicated layer feed and oyster shell. I only gave my injured girl some shre veggies because I brought her inside to a dark area with water and stopped her regular food to keep her from laying. When she is healed, I will resume her regular diet.

THANK YOU. I do not want to cull her. She started laying eggs young and has done fine with small eggs. This time the egg she was trying to lay was large (poor baby). He is in good health otherwise. She is 22 weeks old and has been laying since 18 weeks.
If you can’t push the prolapse back in, it will continue to strangulate and she will eventually become septic. It doesn’t look beyond repair with surgery but I’m not sure if that is an option for you or if you have a poultry vet in your area able to do the surgery. Also I do not know if her condition had worsened since those photos were taken. I strongly recommend veterinary care. Lastly she is highly likely to prolapse again and worse with future egg lays.

Thank you for your help. Vet care is not an option. I have been soaking, cleansing, and debriding it once a day. I am using neosporin, betadine and vetricyn. So far things seem a bit better. Once the prolapsed tissue look healthier, i am going to try an push it back in and hope it stays. Then I think I will have done all I con.

Vet care is not an option for most of us. Sometimes it can take days to a week to get the prolapse back in. It sounds like you are doing all you can and doing it well. Prolapse can recur at a later time, and some hens may need to be put down if they do not respond to treatment. Here is a good article about prolapses:
