I have a jubilee orpington who is sick and I don't know why. She is really tired and when I got home from a less than 3 day trip i found her at the bottom of the cage stiff an spazzing. She can't hold up her neck properly and its as if she can't control her own muscle movements. I'm not sure what else to do. I gave her some food mixed with warm whole milk and a warm bath to help unstiff her muscles. I'm worried about her and dont know what else to do. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I was just looking over her and she is really thin. I'm not sure if she was eating while i was gone. She seems to be a little better than when I got here, but she's not doing good. My other chicks are fine.

I have a sick Orpington only a few weeks old who is displaying the same signs, unable to hold her head up and is very wobbly on her legs can anyone advise what could be wrong with her, no outward signs of runny nose or breathing difficulties.

Some chicks do not make it, especially if you had them shipped in the mail. You can try Save-a-Chick vitamins/electrolytes in the water, but it sounds like it may be too late for this bird. If it were me, I'd be more concerned about the possibility of it being an infectious disease, and watching for signs of similar symptoms in the other birds. With birds I've learned to always think of the flock as a whole, and not invest too much stock in any one bird. Hopefully she will perk up though!

No its not that she can't walk like she has been laying in the same spot for a while and her muscles are so stiff that she can't move them well. And twice through the night she spazzed and threw herself so i had to get up and put her back. I believe I saw something similar on one of these post about somebody's adult orpington. Something about a twisted neck. I really don't want my beautiful jubilee baby to die. She wasn't shipped and I have had her for over a month.
