I'm back, sorry...I stepped away for a minute.@Dragonbabe hold on and let’s see if @Texas Kiki is still on.
He is moving his mouth lots and chirping lots.I'm back, sorry...I stepped away for a minute.
If he is opening and closing the mouth often he is probably still absorbing the yolk.He is moving his mouth lots and chirping lots.
Hi thanks. I only opened and assisted on advice from an article.Spray water on it asap! The membrane is drying out and it probably is stuck to it. This happens a lot and thus why you shouldn't open incubators too early/move the chicks when they're hatching from their mother. The humidity is what helps them break out of their shell
d to lower the humiditySounds like it's shrink wrapped. Raising the humidity is a goid thing. Hopefully it will help soften the membrane.
I had several shrink wrapped hatches last year (wood heat made it impossible to keep the humidity up). The one thing I learned is to not help it. I soaked the chicks and gradually and gently removed the membrane and shell as they loosened. They made it through the procedure, but did not thrive. So, I've learned to let mother nature take its course. If they're meant to survive they'll find a way out.
ok thank you. This is my instinct after reading lots of conflicting advice so I will watch and wait.If he is opening and closing the mouth often he is probably still absorbing the yolk.
I do not think I would open any more just yet.
I think as long as he is still moving the mouth I would wait.
