My Coop
I have a very sick hen. She is only 3 years, but is thin, and can no kidding barely walk. She uses her wings for support. Her feathers are very oily, she pukes up a lot of her food, and has a severe case of lice, which we are treating for. She is bullied by the others, so she lives in a small dog crate in the coop, but any day we can, we put her outside to eat grass, though all she really does is sunbathe.
I really would appreciate any help, because she is very special to me, and was our first hen to raise chicks so we call her Mother Hen. Please help me, Thank you.

Hi there, We need more information on your hen. What is her diet including treats and the brand and type of the feed.
What have you used to treat the mites? Have you diagnosed a crop disorder? how does her crop feel? Squishy, solid, doughy etc..
If If she's bullied she may not have Been allowed to eat, she may be suffering from malnutrition. Have you tried multiple feeders?

We have several feeders, what made her like this was the fact that she disappeared for 2 days. Her diet includes layer pellets mixed with high protein crumble and free access to seed. Her crop is normal, compact after eating, but she digests it quickly enough. She has solid poo, but it is slightly green. We have her in a dog crate, so hens can't get to her, but she has a really small appetite.

Ok, have you ever wormed her?
You might want to consider Cutting out the free access for the seeds, its like free access of cheetos for us.

She really doesn't want anything else, we have tried. If there is no seed, she dumps over the feeder. Also no to the worms.

How does her crop feel first thing in the morning before she eats or drinks—empty and flat, full, soft and puffy, firm, or doughy? Does she normally lay eggs? Is her tail held up or down? Stop the seeds. Mix some layer feed and offer that to her with a little cooked watery egg. Water is most important. She could be weak from dehydration, a crop disorder, or an illness. I would treat her with permethrin dust for her lice. Repeat in 10 days at least once. Clean out your coop and spray with permethrin before adding new bedding.

Hang the feeder or make it tip proof. What type of feeder?
She's spoiled with the seeds, she will eat the feed when She's hungry. She's Suffering from malnutrition, seeds lack lots of essential nutrients including Proper amounts of protein, vitamins, minerals et cetera. And contain large amounts of fat and carbs, Fat on a chicken gathers internally first, it causes organ failure.
She's eating but not anything good for her, hence Me acquainting it to Cheetos.
Get Get some 400 I.u vitamin E gel cap And B complex tablets, give her one vitamin E and 1/3 of the B vitamins every day to help her get her strength back.
Has she been wormed recently or had a fecal float?

No worming or anything; not sure how to do that. The feeder is really just a plastic container.

We have been doing the permethrin, our next date is tomorrow, and we have been cleaning her cage every few days.
She does not lay, only being around 1 pound. First in the morning, it is pretty flat until we fill her dumped food dish. We did figure out that she will eat just the plain high protein crumble. Her tail is always down, unless another bird comes around, then it goes up. She drinks regularly. We are positive she doesn't have a crop disorder, and we are pretty sure she has malnutrition. As i explained before, she left for 2 days and came back terrible. She is just not getting better.
