One of our new jersey giants is not well from the looks of it. She's about a year old, I don't think she's been laying, and she's lost weight. We had to worm our flock (safe-guard) a couple weeks back and she's been slowly getting off ever since I feel like. Today she's just laid down, slightly puffed and her eyes keep closing. I thought she had a partially impacted crop a few days ago and tried to work with that (separated from others with only water for a day, then scrambled eggs and a little oil on small pieces of bread and massaged her crop). We just lost another chicken about a week ago from nothing that we can tell and I'm worried that I have other girls not at their best. This is our 3rd year with chickens, the first year that we've had health issues with them so I'm learning as best I can. Any suggestions are appreciated.

So sorry about your hen.

Had you followed up the deworming with probiotics for a week or two? That could also explain the crop issue.

When is the last time she laid an egg? Being egg-bound is another possibility but generally that needs to be cured in the first couple of days or the hens may not make it.

Her puffiness could be a sign of being egg-bound too. I'd get her in a bath of warm Epsom salt water for a few minutes and if that doesn't do it, give her one of your Calcium +D whole, asap. Put it in her mouth by pulling down gently on her wattles to open her beak. She'll swallow it. That will cause contractions so she will hopefully lay an egg.
