Help! Please!!

It wasn't completely empty, but it wasn't that full. I tried to feed it to her but she wont eat or drink absolutely anything. I gave her aspirin. She is standing now but not walking. She seems super lethargic. I dont think she has much time left... I tried everything and nothing is working. Should I keep going with the molasses flush? Do you think she is going to get better? She is my favorite bird and I have so many memories with her, this truely hurts my soul..
No, I wouldn’t do anything but supportive care at this point. It would probably be too much on her to do a lot of things if she is super lethargic.

Her crop emptied, that is good, that shows you things are moving. If you can, get her to take in some fluids. Electrolytes mixed with some sugar or honey would be best.

I’m sorry she doesn’t seem to be doing well. You’re trying very hard to save her, I know the feeling. I hope she turns around. Keep her comfortable, warm and somewhere she can rest without being disturbed.

I guess I have good news. After I gave her asprin and took her into my moms vegetable patch with Peaches (her bff) she pecked, pooped 3 times, preened, then I took her back up because she was panting and she ate a lot. Now she is back to sleeping. Her poops were the color of the molasses so I am hoping its going through her body. She was definitely in pain and I feel so bad. Maybe since she ate and walked around after 3 days on asprin her body will be strong enough to get back to Snoozy business. Really hoping its not her time. 🤞

Here are two poops she just made outside

She is also preening

Here is the update of today:

So in the morning I was so worried she would not even make it until 12 PM. But by God's grace, something in me thought that maybe just maybe she was in pain. So I went on BYC and searched up the dosage. Quickly, I gave her the "baby" or "low" dose aspirin, and kept praying that she would make it. I took her inside, gave her some water with vitamins, etc.. and took her into my moms vegetable garden with her bestie Peaches.

It took a bit but pretty quickly she started walking around and pecking on clovers and grass. Praise the Lord. She pooped shortly after and spent around 30 minutes out there before I brought her inside to rest and drink and brought her back out after another 30 minutes. This time, I took her to the flock. Oh my they were so happy to see her! She was walking around, pecking, scratching, pooping, preening, etc... She was not her normal self but she for sure was better. I left her out with the flock for the remainder of the day.(I would go and give her water)

When it was bed time, she waited by the gate for us to take her up. But since we didn't come right in time, she wanted to roost. (Such a good baby) So I let her walk up the hill to go to bed, (she gladly did that) and at the top, she wanted to turn around to go back to her friends. So I picked her up and carried her. When we got inside, I gave her watermelon juice mixed with coconut water, electrolytes and vitamins. For feed, she loves corn bread, but as @Wyorp Rock said, that doesn't have the nutrients she needs. So I did half and half of cornbread and dry feed mixed that with water and vitamins, and she ate a good amount.

Now she is sleeping on her little bar we made for her. My mom said that aspirin is anti-inflammatory and helps reduce fever (at least for humans.) So hopefully that makes her recover. Do you guys think it will help? She did walk and poop way more today which I suppose is good...

It sounds like she’s doing much better, good job! I don’t think asprin would hurt for a few days if you’d like. I’ve never given it to any of mine, so I can’t speak a lot on how much it’ll help. I’m very happy for you that she is doing better this evening!

Thank you! So am I! I read that its best to only give it for 3 days.

Sounds like she's slowly improving.

If you can, let her be with her flock during the day, often they are much happier and will sometimes eat better too.

Sunshine, fresh air, dirt and being with their friends can do wonders for lifting up their spirits.

You're doing a good job taking care of her.

Thank you! This morning I took her out without pain meds, and she was pecking, walking around, preening, etc... So I think she is getting better! Yay! Today, I will leave her out with them for longer.

Today Snooze was much better. She ate dry food, ate from their daily salad, ate yogurt, fruits, cornbread, drank vitamin water, preened, pooped, etc... She was out with the flock all day, and I think she really enjoyed it. I caught her and Peaches catching some Z's together. It was so cute! They were beak to beak. As you can see by my profile pic, these two love each other.

Anyways, I took her inside for the night, just to make sure that she had food in her as well as fluids. She did, so I opened the door and she strolled into her lovely cage. (I found Snooze up on the roost with Peaches) I think this is just her encouraging her crop to empty, but sometimes she moves her head so its almost reaching her back..? I don't know how to explain it but its weird.

Hopefully, tomorrow she wont need Aspirin because this morning I took her out without Aspirin and she was walking around a bit, but still seemed to be in pain but not as painful I guess. I am so happy to see her finally getting better!! My heart broke seeing her sick..

It’s so good to hear of her turn around. Good job nursing her back to health!

Does she open her mouth when she is doing this weird head/neck movement? It could be her adjusting her crop.
