Best to wrap sooner than later it responds better https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...how-we-wrap-to-mend-it-pictorial#post_8682154It has been five days and it still looks the same. should I wait it out longer (what's the longest I could wait) or wrap it sooner than later
Not sure if the wrap would hinder swimming but foraging should be fine. wrap may make the duckling a l;ittle off balance for swimming but you could un wrap for swim time. Unless they are picking on the duck I'd leave him with the rest.Okay thank you ill do it ASAP! Will he need to be kept separate from the other ducks (12 ducks total all same age) during this time? Also will he still be allowed to swim and forage while wrapped?
I use whole oats with my flock raiser 80/20 here is some info. I think you could use reg oats also just not instant.I have been wrapping my month old Cayuga duckling with the stretchy tape and even put a piece of cut panty hose around her and she is still wiggling her wings out of the wrap. Any advice on how to wrap it better? Also what should I feed her and the others in addition to the flock raiser to raise the Niacin and cut the protien? All of my other ducks (Peking and runner- 1year old) and (swedish and runnner- 1 month old) seem to be ok. It's just my Cayuga that looks like the wing is poking out.
