1 yr old Barred Rock really straining this morning and noticed vent prolapse. Seemed like having a hard time pooping. After 20 min and poop cleaned off, the vent went back in on its own. I have her in a warm bath now, but her vent is not submerged.
Do I need to make sure that she sits/submerged the vent? What else? Monitor?
Thanks!

Obviously monitor. If it went back already, probably fine. Did she pass the egg?
I've read sugar helps with prolapses.

A little oil lubrication around/on the vent. Quiet, dark area to rest. When my parrot went through this, I was told to put her in the bathroom and run a hot shower steam up the room. I haven't had a chicken prolapse, yet

I don't know that she was/is egg bound, but she hasn't laid today. What kind of oil/lubrication do you recommend? I sprayed Vetericyn around the opening but after it went back in. The vent didn't really touch anything external or get dirty
I know this just happened straight out of the coop this morning.
Thanks for your help!
Just concerned about the next time she has to poo or lay an egg
