Help! Proper humidity in brooder

Since they are live chicks they should be fine as long as the air is moving .. Have you any hardware cloth ?

I do have hardware cloth. I made a cover before they got here to keep any potential anything out of the brooder.

Temp down to 95. They're all sleeping under the light now and quiet. It's 125w bulb and ours pretty high up.

As long as there is a cool area, I would not worry.

It might be easier to keep their temperature cool enough if you can move the setup to the coop. Ideally, they need a spot that is warm enough and a cool area to escape to.

Oh, I forgot to say,

I change the bulbs in the lamp to lower wattage bulbs to adjust the temperature when just raising the chain doesn't do the job.

Reptile bulbs are great for this because they come in so many types and you know that they're teflon-free.

They're just really precious and I didn't think I'd be this attached after 2 days. I'm going to check out those articles and put my location in my profile.

Should I keep a close eye on them if the temp is ok now? I check on them every couple of hours normally. I'll have to close the garage enough so nothing big can get under it. Looks like the wind is picking up outside...typical Central Texas. I have the two fans going to circulate and it feels a little better.

If you've got the excess heat vented, the brooder covered, etc. it should be OK.

I'd check every 10 minutes because they're chicks, but they'll be fine without checking. The set up looks good enough.. relax and check the chicks to your hearts desire.
