I was able to unwrap the string and extract it but the "tongue" looks grayish and is not as pink as a healthy "tongue" in one of my other pullets. There was also a vaguely foul odor in the mouth and the crop was empty. I put my pinky in the throat to make sure there was no other material and there doesn't appear to be any further obstructions. She was sitting by herself and by the looks of her crop had not eaten. I gave her some turkey and banana baby food by syringe which she took and some water. She is still fluffed up and sleepy but she swallowed everything I fed her and now I'm wondering if I did the right thing?? Is there anything else I can do?? The odor is gone now from her throat and her tongue looks slightly pinker but still not normal and she holds her beak apart slightly. Will her tongue recover?? How serious is this?? Advice please
