help!put eggs in.cant get temp or humidity right again

Humidity is based on water surface area not the depth. I agree with the other replies. I know its hard, but you have to give it time to re-regulate after you add the eggs.
How long did you let the eggs adjust to room temp before you set them? Just wondering, everybodys room temp is different. I would surmise those with lower room temps would see a more drastic change in temp inside the incubator than those with higher temps.

If you just set the eggs give the incubator hours to come back to correct temps and humidity without touching anything.....if your humidity stays high after so many hours or even a day you will need to empty most of the water out til the correct humidity is reading...40 to 50% range...

You've gotten the temps back to normal so give the humidity time...Don't go touching the temps unless it spikes...

the eggs sat at room temp for 24 hours.

Sorry guys I'm just an impatient Irish girl. This is gonna b the longest 21 days of my life. I cant wait to see what babies I got. My homegirl hooked me up with 2 1/2 dozen. Some sizzles. silkies. cochins. brahmas. and dominiques. I love variety.

The worst thing you can do with a little giant is to keep fiddling with the thermostat. Trust me, I know from experience. It takes about 6 hrs for your temp. to get right again after you put the eggs in, and that's only if you let the eggs come to room temperature before you put them in. Just don't keep adjusting the temp. Unless you're way too high, give it about 3 hrs before trying to adjust, and when you do, just BARELY increase or decrease. Good luck...

I am posting on here and watchin a movie to distract me from the adjsuting. I had no idea it would take so long to stabalize. I'm glad you guys are here to help me.

I took out all the water except a millimeter deep in the little slit tray. Now i've got it to 98.6 and 51%. Ilve been taking water out all day. if i take any more out there wont be any at all. It is always really humid here in indiana so that may be part of my problem too. I mean with only one or two of those tiny basins with water = had like 75_85% all day. I just want to make sure they aren't retarded or crippled.
