help quail chicks!!!!!

ok i have removed the towels from the top, i have spread food around the brooder,  some are huddled and some are running around the brooder, but usually they are running around and feeding.

its real heart breaking to wake up in the morning and find dead chicks.

im working today, my wife and boys will keep a close eye on them.

its about 22-24degrees in the garage.

Outside temps don't sound too bad. Seems like you are doing all you can. Forgot to ask where they shipped eggs or ones from your own quail? Mine aren't quite old enough to lay yet but i would be happy to send you some eggs to try again if you need them later on.

If you are finding dead chicks in the morning, that tells me that they are either over heating or getting chilled.

they were some of my eggs and some mailed, are you in sydney? i only have 4 females atm. maybe we can trade eggs to get different lines and colours.

the brooder temp reads between 93-95f

found 1 dead this morning.

No I'm in qld but i send eggs all over Australia. Just not quails yet. I would be happy to send some to you for free once they start laying. Need someone to test my packing skills for quail eggs. A trade would be great too. Always good to mix up the gene pool. MIne are just on 5 weeks today so hopefully they will start laying within the month.

thank you satay, that would be great , im happy to test them for you, i set another 120 quail eggs on the 2/11/12 so the bator should be free from the 21-22/11/12. i have set eggs and hopefully get them to hatch under the fruitful moon sign of pisces.
