help quails had chicks without incubator

hi, no they are not buttons.... too big they are courtix quail. the female would often sit on a box in the corner for hours...... trying to get away from the hounding male whos only after one thing. I think because she stayed there and laid eggs...... she bsically kept them warm and they hatched. probably a big surprise to her!!

Thats half inch by half inch wire in the background if that's a button quail it's the godzilla of buttons. It's a coturnix.  

Likely you are right, but the wire could be quarter inch.

Each specie comes in many color varieties/mutations. Those pictures are off the internet.

How big are your quail?

they are about 30 long and20 wide

If you want them to stop hatching chicks I'de just take the eggs out each day, no need to separate.
