Help! Raccon ate chicken's leg!

Hi I am also a new member because a wild animal, coon or possum ate my hens leg and the foot was dangling. How is yours doing? Mine seems to be healing but the bone is sticking out because the leg is shrinking up and I don't know what to do next. What did you cut the bone with?

Just a quick update on my little hen....its about a month later and she has made it through. We still are bandaging, wrapping, and keeping mostly isolated. Her wound has a hard scab on it that keeps getting smaller by the week. The part that was muscle seemed to have healed over and is like skin, so i have high hopes! It's starting to wear on me, though, since ever since the attack we have been moving our chickens into the basement every night and keeping tem in stock watering bins. It's hard to keep it clean! They are getting bigger, but at least my daughter has been very supportive and helping me do chores every night with a cheery positive attitude that just keeps me going! What a blessing and an angel she is. Our little one legged hen has been introduced to another hen of ours. She (Minnie) has a cross beak and is very much dwarfed due to her inability to eat very well. She makes the perfect nurse and companion to the one legged girl (Butterscotch) So, to each its purpose here on earth, we love our chickens no matter what state they are in! I will keep more updates coming as more things happen. I will have to figure out how to upload some pictures...that might be helpful or interesting to others.
