Help Rate The 2012 BYC Calendar Pictures

I agree. It doesn't take a professional to take a quality photo...just someone who pays attention to the details and makes sure the photo is actually in focus. It amazed me to see how many that were submitted that were out of focus. I understand keeping an out of focus picture sometimes because it conveys a feeling to the owner but not to submit it for publication. No one else has that warm fuzzy special feeling connected to the photo...we just see an out of focus picture of a chicken.

I have a nice camera, probably take thousands of shots a year. I get compliments on some of my photos but never have made one red cent; guess that makes me an amateur photographer. A good photo is in focus, framed and lighted well, and interesting to the viewer. Would you rather buy a calendar of average snapshots, or photos that make you go 'oooh, ahhhh'?

There were so many great chick shots that a "Baby Chicks" calendar should be a consideration--2 Calendars each year.

The chicken and dog pics were actually my favorite.
The voting was open to all BYCers. Since everyone (for the most part) agreed on which pictures to include in the calendar, I think I can speak for most of us when I say "you are not just offending the moderators but all of us who contribute to this site."
So go ahead and take some time to look a little closer at the site. I'm sure you'll understand it better after you're a bit more educated on it

When will the calenders be available for sale?

We're still working on them, but we're shooting for 2-3 weeks (we may even do a pre-order for those that want a guaranteed reservation).

As soon as we get a delivery date, I will activate the calendars in the store so they can be pre-ordered.
