HELP!Rooster&Hen SICK!!!! From Cold? Its 38 Degrees!!!!Please Help!!!

HOWDY my 8 month old babies are coughing just a bit and were hovering to the ground in their hutch so i brought them in the garage and put a heat lamp on them and put towels in their dog cage and gave them water, they look like their snuggling into the blankets and are acting semi normal but I'm worried becuz it's 38 degrees out I didn't know it was too cold for them and then the other night he was crowing at 2am and it was 50 degrees, was he complaining of the cold? and being a bad mother i didn't know?
WHAT CAN I DO?????WILL THEY DIE? DO THEY HAVE PNEUMONIA? HELP!

P.S. He is crowing at 2am,why? is it becuz he's sick or just becuz he always does that when I'm around????HELP! I can't lose them now!

I think you did the right thing bringing them inside and warmeing them up. Do you only have two birds? They may not be able to keep each other warm enough.
It doesn't get that terribly cold around here, but I do cover the henhouse in the winter to keep the wind out and I usually have around ten birds. They snuggle to keep warm.
Roosters can crow any time they want to, just because they can. Our neighbors crows around 3:15 am. Thank goodness ours don't start til around five.
Years ago I had one that started around 1:00am and crowed every hour. I didn't keep him for long, I needed my beauty sleep - so I could go to work - and get money - for chicken food -

I bring my 3 birds inside during the night, but the whole day their outside. They should be fine just keep them warm

40 is a very comfortable temperature for chickens. At 38 I don't think they will show signs of being cold.

If you are seeing symptoms you have other problems. Chickens do not get colds they we humans do. You are seeing a respiartory infection. Some are swift and take the chickens quickly. Others they are often able to recover from.

Keeping them warm and contained is a good start.

You can add raw organic apple cider vinegar to their water to give them a boost. The vinegar with the mothers helps to clear bacteria, fungus, virus and yeast type infection in the body.

Also you can give them a huge nutritional boost and a chance to fight off the problems by giving them some vitamins. If you have nothing on hand you can use baby liquid vitamins - poly-vi-sol without iron. 5 drops by beak daily for 5 days.

Also you can jumpstart them with some yogurt, meat scraps, scrambled eggs and cooked rice.

Keep us posted on their conditions.

One more thing, I know this is stressful, but typing in caps like in your title is screaming at people on the forum. Many who might be able to help you won't even bother to open the thread as it comes across as aggressive and stressing.

thank yall for your help their starting to act normal now but i believe i see diarreha still.why? i don't have any of those on hand for vitamins! not even yogurt!uh! yes i onlny have 2 birds.


edit: P.S. just gave them some turkey slices and they gobbled them up!

doesn't look like it, just extremely runny. no coughing though
