My roosters leg recently went limp, but now he has movement in his hip. However, his leg has started to heal pointing inward underneath him and it is crossing over his good leg so it makes even hopping difficult. He doesn't seem to be in pain. He's eating, drinking, and when I set him out for a few minutes with the flock he socializes with his hens like normal. I don't know if there is a special brace or something I can make or purchase for him. Please help!

Is there any chance that you could see a vet for an xray? It is hard to know if he might have had a dislocated hip or is suffering from some type of leg bone deformity that has lead to a tendon rupture. Do his knees seem knock kneed or bowlegged? There are not many vets on this sight, and most don’t advertise it. Have you seen any green bruising along the entire leg or hip? Injuries high in the leg are apparently hard to splint. Most of the time confining them to a pen with food and water for a few weeks is the most common treatment.
