Help! She's not eating!

Did you by any chance have time to look at any threads by @casportpony
or pm her? She has info on tube feeding, if she has still not passed whatever it is an is losing weight you may have to try to tube her. Kathy may have some other suggestions, she is quite experienced and knowledgeable.

Hope she takes a turn for the better soon.

I am sorry you lost a different chicken today:hugs

I am going to pm her today. I had a message ready for her then my phone died and I lost the whole thing!

Update on Mindy! She is still not interested in mushy food but she gave me 3 really great poops tonight! She's had me worried with all the watery poop with the very occasional semi-solid poop. Tonight she gave 3 solid ones all in the course of 2 hours

I'm ecstatic! She's still drinking a TON and picking up oyster shell and grit. She is also ravenous for any solid pellets and still won't eat mushy foods but I am apprehensive about giving solid pellets to her still since there hasn't been a morning yet that her crop is empty. Maybe tomorrow will be the day?! I sure hope so!

She's going stir crazy being caged up most of the time! She does enjoy her walks around the kitchen when I'm cooking and her twice daily snuggle sessions but those things are nothing compared to being with her flock, I'm sure! I took her to a big mirror today and she stood in front of it purring at herself and fell asleep against it. Poor thing just wants a friend!

Awww, that sound so cute & sad with the mirror.

Since she is losing weight, but drinking fine, I would let her have small amounts of pellets, if thats what she will eat. She needs a boost in nutrition and her pellets are balanced. The grit she is eating should help grind up some of the food. How late at night is her last feeding?
Does she go to "bed" the same time she would normally if she was in the coop, or is she in a lighted area at night?

She goes to bed probably about an hour later than she normally would. They put themselves to bed at dusk most nights, as I'm sure everyone else's chickens do. But with my schedule I can't do her dinner until about 6 or 7

I really wish I could do it earlier so she could be left alone for the natural amount of time she would if she was out with the others. But it's nice and dark in her room after she's done eating (or not eating some nights). It's great to hear to give her some pellets. She will love that! I'm going to try the mush yet again this morning and if it doesn't work again I'll give her limited pellets. Her crop is smaller again this morning but not empty still
