Help Sick Chick?

Found my chick splayed like this, it’s stayed alive but is pretty weak. Any ideas of what I can do to help? Been giving her electrolytes and water through droplet, she seems interested in eating, but doesn’t seem to swallow.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Does this chick ever stand or become upright? is it always laying down like this? Is her head always in that position? Does she have any muscle control over her head and legs?
Does she swallow the water? How long has she been like this, I see that you have splinted her legs for splayed leg but how long has it been since she has been laying on her tummy with her head like that? I'm sure that someone will come along with an answer shortly but a little more information would be great.

The chick was pretty strong this morning, my son found her actually on her back, and came to alert me. I didn’t know what was wrong so I’ve done everything I can think of. She would try to flap and fly and when she did she would fall on her stomach and bury her head. I have been trying to give her electrolytes throughout the day, but she has gotten progressively weaker, she does not actually swallow food but was doing pretty well with the water. It does seem like she lost control of her head too. :-(

That's a pretty quick decline, do you know if she had any vaccinations at all before you got her? What was she like yesterday? How long have you had her? Do you have other chicks her age? If so, how are they?

Oh also, are you giving her straight up tap water? Are you adding vitamins to the water? Are you using Sav a chick or Nutridrench? What kind of feed have you been giving her? Was she able to swallow food yesterday?
Are you keeping her warm enough? chicks are sensitive to temperature, too hot or too cold is bad for them, Also, fluctuating temperatures in their brooder is bad, she looks to be about a week and half or two weeks old, her brooder temperature should be 90 degrees with no drafts. (Just in chase you are new to chick raising).

That's a pretty quick decline, do you know if she had any vaccinations at all before you got her? What was she like yesterday? How long have you had her? Do you have other chicks her age? If so, how are they?

I got her from Southern states, so I believe she has some vaccines. We got 15 in total. We have had her for less than one week. Nothing seemed out of normal yesterday, my boys definitely would have noticed if any of them were acting funny. We are on a well and our water is filtered so we’ve been giving them that, but without vitamins because I didn’t know about those so I’ll get some ASAP. They’ve been eating Purina Medicated Starter Feed. None of the other chicks seem bothered. It seems like this one may have had a fall and been stepped on by the others, but she is fighting.

the same thing to me, I lost 2 chickens my first day with 10 chicks from hoovers hatchery. it's common for them to get sick since there so young.

Thank you! I’ve heard it’s very common to lose a couple of chicks, but she is still hanging on so I’m just trying to see if there is any hope for her to come back.

Could she have been dropped? When did you tape her legs and why? What symptoms caused you to do that? It's okay if she needs it but generally, that is a treatment for splayed legs.
My thinking here is possibly a neurological condition called wry neck, It can be treated but treatment isn't always successful. I'm not saying that it is for sure wry neck but it sounds like it could be. Wry neck can be caused by a head injury, a vitamin deficiency, somehow ingesting some form of toxin, or sometimes it's genetic. The first thing that I would suggest is that you find a way to get some nutrition into her. For tonight, Since she seems to be able to swallow water, I would soak a tiny bit of her starter food in water, mostly just make the water brown, you don't want any pieces of food to remain solid or she could choke.
Oh, you said you were giving her electrolytes, what are you giving her? Something like Sav a chick? or something else made for chickens?
