Hi all,
I woke up today to let the chickens out and I have a very sick hen who suddenly can't stand. She did a normal looking large poop then just squatted down and couldn't stand. She is puffed up, very droopy tail and a bit sleepy but largely alert, clear eyes comb and wattle look good as does crop and legs.. brought her in and bathed her and syringe fed some.water and she ate some food but she still can't stand! I live in Spain and we are on full lockdown so I cannot easily access medications and the avian vet is closed... What could this be?? She is approx 5 months old. What can I do to help her? Any home remedies??

My chicken did this when she was low on vitamins B and D. Do you have poultry vitamins, or a liquid baby multivitamin? Preferrably without iron.

In my case, I only had a chewable children's multivitamin, so I ground those up and mixed them with water and a tiny bit of honey and my chicken bounced back after a day and a half.
