Help! Sick chicken.

I put drops on the beak and they usually gobble it when it rolls around in their mouth. I would push a few drops every half hour or so.

I'm not sure about raw egg. And honestly, I would skip the bird seed and switch to Black Oil Sunflower Seed or BOSS as it is known. Like that you use grower with OS on the side, do you know the protein content on that?

And I am a fan of fermenting.

Report on poo when you see it.

OK. There are some black oil sunflower seeds in that little mix with the meal worms and birdseed etc. I hope she makes it.

She made it through the night. Seems to be doing OK this morning although I haven't seen her eat but I had to rush to work. She ate a couple meal worms and a piece of Cale last night along with some string cheese. Haven't seen her drink yet so I will probably try to for some water down her when I get home at noon. So I guess so far so good. I noticed that she is dropping a couple feathers but doesn't seem to be in a heavy mold. Her comb is red.

Glad she is still with you.

She may be starting to molt. This can be hard on them, but it is best to keep her separated so you can give her some extra attention and monitor her just in case it's something else.

If you have them offer some poultry vitamins in her water, or do as @EggSighted4Life for life suggested, drop water by their beak. You can find syringes at TSC. I use Poultry Nutri-Drench, dosage is 1ml per every 3 pounds. My birds will usually take it by dropping it beside/on their beak. Get ready for some spillage and shaking of the head, once they realize what you are doing they usually do just fine.

I did put some electrolytes in her water and I think she actually drank about half of it. She's not as lethargic and she even bit me when I was trying to reach into find some Poo to look at. I think it was pretty normal, but I don't see well at all so it's hard to tell. It was not read so I think that's good.

Glad she was drinking!

Since she bit you, could she possilby have gone broody? Some hens when broody won't eat/drink a lot and can lose weight to the point they become lethargic and dehydrated.
Does she growl or screech at you when you come near?

Just a thought.

I've never had a hen go broody. She was only in that nesting box for a couple hours as far as I know. She didn't growl or anything. Tonight she's eating out of my hand, she's eating her regular food as well as some mealworms and sunflower seeds and a grape :-) and she's drinking water :-) :-)
So do you think it safe for me to put her back with the others tomorrow? I thought I would do it after work when I have time to observe for a while.
