If she seems to be acting normal, eating/drinking, then let her back with the flock and see how it goes.I've never had a hen go broody. She was only in that nesting box for a couple hours as far as I know. She didn't growl or anything. Tonight she's eating out of my hand, she's eating her regular food as well as some mealworms and sunflower seeds and a grapeand she's drinking water

So do you think it safe for me to put her back with the others tomorrow? I thought I would do it after work when I have time to observe for a while.
Molting is hard on them. It should not cause weakness and lethargy, so if you see this again, then you will need to investigate further. Taking a fecal sample to your vet for a fecal float to detect any type of internal parasites (worms) would be in order.
I have only had chickens for 1 month so I am no expert! However a few days ago I noticed my chicken, Adele, acting weird. She would lift her leg and shiver. She was stand-offish and quiet. She was drinking lots but something just seems wrong.... then she started losing feathers by the handful. She seems to be doing fine now. She will not win any beauty pageants but she seems to be holding her own and a bit more spunky. Hope yours continues to get better
