help sick chicken

Isn't it pretty normal to have some white in the poop? Is that Necrotic Enteritis manageable? I have a couple of hens with poopy butts, not fluffy like their sisters &would like to help them.

The one that died had bright green poo which I understand could be bacterial? I was giving her antibiotics but it didn't seem to make a difference even after 3 or 4 days. I would have expected at least some improvement if that is what could have helped but, nothing!
Thank you for your kind words. Truly. Ultimately, it was a decision for both her & us. For her it was about quality of life that wasn't getting any better; she was sitting for days & wouldn't move unless I moved her (or eat unless I fed her) & ultimately ended up sitting in her poo til I cleaned it up. For us, we felt twofold regarding not knowing how to best cure her (or if that was even an option) and 2. that she wasn't doing what she was here for, to lay eggs. Obviously the quality of life & my inability to improve that was the most important factor (since I have several 'pet' chickens who are here only because we love them despite their NOT laying... grrr... we just don't have the desire to put them down or relocate them).

It's a tough decision being a chicken owner because obviously they don't lay for their entire life span, so what to do with them when they stop--- well, first it's a matter of determining WHO isn't laying which can be itself a challenge!
